San Juan del Sur, tourist community on the Pacific

Thursday 16 June 2011

Granada plaza
The hotel had breakfast included and it was a good one too, put all our luggage on the bike again and headed of for Masaya to see the volcano, coming close to the volcano, by error we made a left at a T-Junction and were pulled over for a bogus infraction by police and these guys didn't invent the wheel, so arguing was senseless and Scotty had to go to the bank to pay for the $5.00 fine, what was issued to me and still do not know where it was for up to today, Anyway that incident decided for us not to go to Masaya, but to go to Grenada.
After checking out the city and waterfront, where all the boats leave for Lake Nicaragua, we had lunch in the plaza and then continued our way to the south along side the lake and saw the island Omoteppe with their volcano's. Reached San Juan that afternoon, drove along the beach to find an hotel and checked in. This place changed a lot with 30 years ago and was loaded with tourists and in the evening all bars and restaurants were open and a lot of young people had there hang out there
